It is USB 3.0. That Wikipedia article touches on the subject of USB 3.0 but only just. The new version, just like USB 2.0 is more about the data formatting than the physical connections so it requires the right electronics in connected devices to work at its 10s of times faster than USB 2.0 speeds.
